There is power in curiosity.
God had an idea for our salvation — and Jesus was the fulfillment of his idea.
At City Lights, we value godly curiosity. What could God do if we turn our curiosity over to Him?
In addition to what we are already doing in our community, here are some of our recent ideas for where we could go next. We would love to hear what you think about them. And if you want to help us bring these ideas to life, we will do all we can to help.
-
Our idea is to create a podcast or radio studio, where we can invite middle and high-schoolers in economically-disadvantaged schools to create their own, clean podcast shows at the interval of their choosing. They would be invited onto the City Lights campus to use our equipment. We would promote their work to others. This would not only give them a creative outlet, but would educate them in the podcasting and radio industry.
-
Our idea is to use the book “Father to Son: Words of Wisdom Every Son Should Consider” by our own Eric Willis as a curriculum fora a youth mentorship program in local middle schools.
We have tried this on one occasion, and we see a future in this ministry.
-
Our idea is to open a piano lab, offering group classes at our facility to those who never had a chance at musical education. We could use a sliding-scale system, and promote our piano students at upcoming music festivals. If willing, we would allow our piano students to serve as worship assistants during our worship services.
-
Our idea is to encourage local up-and-coming artists to contribute their talents in-person during our ART Church worship services as a way of spreading their view of the Gospel through their artistic medium.
In turn, we would sell their work through our website and other platforms, and pay for one lesson with a professional in their field.
Do any of these inspire you?
Let us know here.
As our way of saying thanks…
